What it costs
Ordinary household waste is free. Some non-household materials, things like rubble, soil and plasterboard, are classed as chargeable waste. The council publishes the current charges and the full list of what each centre will and will not take, and that list does change, so it is worth a look before you load the car.
Shepperton is one of the permit sites
Only nine of Surrey's fifteen recycling centres take vans, pickups and trailers on a permit. Shepperton is one of them, along with Camberley, Earlswood, Epsom, Guildford, Leatherhead, Lyne, Witley and Woking. If you are hiring a van for a clearance, that is worth knowing before you book.
Opening times, permit rules and resident scheme details taken from Surrey County Council and last checked on 22 August 2026. Hours and charges can change, so check the council page if you are travelling any distance.
