Things to Do in Shepperton
Shepperton sits on a pretty stretch of the River Thames, on the Middlesex and Surrey border, close enough to London to be easy and far enough to feel like its own place.
Whether you live here, you have just moved in, or you are visiting for the day, this is our local guide to the best things to do in and around Shepperton. It is kept current by The Sheppertonian, so for what is happening this week, jump straight to our What's On or browse the events calendar.

Down by the river
The Thames is the heart of Shepperton. Walk the towpath in either direction for riverside views, moored boats and plenty of places to stop. Shepperton Lock is a lovely spot to watch the boats come through, and the little ferry across to Weybridge is one of the oldest crossings on the river. Nearby you will find riverside cafés, chandlery and the kind of slow afternoon that is hard to find anywhere else.
The village and the town centre
Old Shepperton around Church Square is the historic heart of the village, with a handsome old church, characterful pubs and a genuine sense of history. The village centre and high street cover the everyday essentials, independent shops and somewhere to grab a coffee.

Eating and drinking
Shepperton punches above its weight for a village. You will find riverside cafes, traditional pubs, and places to eat that range from a quick lunch to a proper evening out.
What's on
This is where Shepperton comes alive. From live music nights and community fairs to theatre, markets and riverside festivals, there is usually something on. The trouble with a static guide is that it dates, so we do the hard work for you every week. See this week's What's On for live music and events happening right now, or the community calendar for everything coming up.
Days out and local landmarks
Shepperton is world famous for Shepperton Studios, where some of the biggest films and series are made just up the road. You cannot tour the studios, but you can feel the film history all around the village. Animal lovers should know about the Swan Sanctuary on Felix Lane, a remarkable local charity caring for swans and wildlife. Add in green space at Bishop Duppas and Manor Park, sailing on the river and easy trips to Shepperton Lock, neighbouring Sunbury, Walton and Staines, and there is plenty to fill a day.
