If you've ever fancied yourself as a hero of the Thames - now's your chance. The Great Nauticalia Raft Race is back on the 13th of June, part of the Shepperton Village Fair. Two kilometres on the river, homemade rafts, crowds cheering from the bank - and this year's theme is Heroes. So whether your team arrives as caped crusaders, wartime legends, sporting icons, or the unsung heroes of everyday life, the Thames is your stage. Build your raft, dress the part, and paddle for glory. Teams of all kinds can enter, and if you've never built a raft before, Nauticalia can supply the materials and the advice to make sure you actually float. Start your adventure at shepperton-fair.org.
